This Porsche has covered only 54,351 miles from new and has been lovingly cared for by all previous owners. Power has been improved from the Cayman S, Porsche use the same direct-injected 3.4-liter flat six engine. The R gained a state of tune, increasing the horse power to 330 bhp.
Only 1,621 Cayman R were made worldwide with 220 for the UK market.

This R also comes with the highly desirable carbon bucket seats which are an expensive optional extra, the suspension of the R is 20mm lower than a standard Cayman S. Weight has been stripped from a standard Cayman chassis to create the R, but not enough to make the interior an unforgiving place to spend time. Aluminium door skins, light weight wheels and carbon fibre bucket seats make up the lions share of the weight reduction.
Summary
There is a purity to the Cayman R that Porsche has not been able to replicate in anything it has built since. While the German sports car maker we all love has made quite a few cars that are quicker, faster, more impressive, and more expensive, it hasn’t built anything as pure as this for some time. When compared to the GT3 RS or Cayman GT4 or Carrera T, the Cayman R is far more connected, nimble due to the set up and the smaller size and far less expensive. Due to the limited production numbers, the Cayman R is a safe investment.
